This short wide-angle cinema zoom delivers full-frame coverage, a fast T2.9 aperture, and consistent optical performance across the entire zoom range—making it a strong choice for narrative, commercial, and high-resolution digital cinematography. With no focus shift while zooming and support for 4K capture, it offers reliable, distortion-free results in a lightweight form factor. Optimized for handheld and Steadicam work, it balances compact size with robust cine housing, calibrated focus scales in feet, and smooth image rendering from edge to edge.

The lens features 0.8 MOD gearing on the focus, iris, and zoom rings, along with nearly 300° of focus rotation for precise, repeatable pulls. Internal light traps and ZEISS T* anti-reflex coatings help suppress flare and preserve contrast, while the circular iris creates a pleasing bokeh. The PL mount version is standard, but ZEISS’s interchangeable mount system allows for conversion to EF, F, MFT, or E mounts (sold separately). Colormatched to other ZEISS cinema glass, this zoom intercuts seamlessly with Master Primes, Ultra Primes, and other CZ.2 lenses.
