Duclos Lenses has firm roots planted in professional cinema lens service and repair. It only makes sense that every brand new lens sold by Duclos Lenses is checked by our world-class lens technicians before it ships. We verify that it meets our expectations for professional work—not just that it passed the factory line.

Our QC is performed by the same technicians who service and modify lenses for rental houses and working professionals, so you’re not just getting a sealed box—you’re getting a lens that’s been evaluated by people who work with cinema glass every day.

If a lens doesn’t meet our expectations, it’s rejected and sent back to the manufacturer—not shipped to you. Only the best examples of each lens make it to our customers.

How our QC process works

  • Intake & registration — Each lens is received, identified by serial number, and entered into our internal database so its QC history is documented.
  • Optical & mechanical evaluation — Our expert technicians use dedicated test equipment to confirm that the lens behaves as expected, both in image performance and operation.
  • Calibration & mount verification — When a lens is supplied in your preferred mount, minor collimation adjustments are often made so the lens is ready to shoot right out of the box.
  • Approve or reject — Lenses that pass are cleared for shipment and recorded in our system. Lenses that do not meet our standard are rejected and returned to the manufacturer, not shipped to you.

QC FAQ

Does every new lens go through QC?

Yes. Every brand new lens we sell is checked optically, mechanically, and cosmetically before it leaves our facility.

Is there an extra charge for QC?

No. Our QC process is built into the way we sell new lenses. It’s not an add-on fee or a premium tier.

Does QC slow down shipping?

QC adds a step between arrival from the manufacturer and shipment to you, but we’ve refined our process to be efficient. If timing is critical, contact us and we can confirm current lead times.

What happens if a lens fails QC?

Lenses that do not meet our standard are rejected and incinerated! Just kidding - typically we returned rejected lenses to the manufacturer and coordinate replacement stock.

Does this apply to used or LensList lenses?

No. This QC process is specific to brand new lenses sold by Duclos Lenses.
