The Canon CN-E 85mm T1.3 L F Cinema Prime Lens is a desirable short telephoto focal length, offering a flattering perspective for portraiture and close-ups on both Full Frame and Super 35 sensor formats. This high-speed optic features a very fast T1.3 maximum aperture, enabling exceptional low-light performance and providing extensive creative control over an extremely shallow depth of field. A circular 11-blade iris ensures that out-of-focus light sources remain perfectly round, resulting in smooth, beautiful bokeh. Focus is highly accurate and smooth, leveraging 300° of stepless barrel rotation, while the lens construction is optimized to minimize focus breathing.

Built to professional standards, the lens features a dust- and water-resistant exterior. Its innovative optical assembly is designed to compensate for temperature variations, thereby maintaining the absolute accuracy of the focus distance markings during a shoot. The focus scales are clearly visible on both sides of the barrel, with the rear markings angled for optimal viewing by the focus puller. Consistent with the rest of the CN-E line, the 85mm T1.3 shares standardized mechanics—including a 114mm front diameter and identical gear positions—for seamless integration with accessories and rapid lens swaps on set.
