On full-frame and large-format sensors, the 105mm provides a tighter, more intentional perspective than an 85mm, while still maintaining a natural visual presence. With its fast T1.5 aperture and a 46.7 mm image circle, the lens delivers excellent low-light performance and the ability to create smooth, cinematic depth transitions that highlight your subject with clarity and subtlety.

Optically, the 105mm delivers the Vista line’s hallmark rendering: controlled contrast, gentle highlight rolloff, and rounded bokeh thanks to a 9-blade iris. Focus breathing is kept very low, preserving composition during focus pulls and dolly work—crucial for intimate performances and precise framing. Mechanically, the lens maintains the Vista family’s production-oriented consistency, including a 114 mm front diameter, matching gear positions across the lineup, and a long 300° focus rotation for accurate, repeatable marks. Dual-side engraved scales support visibility from either operating side, while the robust all-metal housing ensures durability on demanding sets.
