The NiSi 50mm T1 is a full-frame and large-format cinema lens designed to deliver a classic optical character in a modern cine-style housing. Covering everything from full-frame and VistaVision sensors to larger formats such as the ARRI ALEXA 65, Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65, and FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA, the lens offers a versatile normal field of view with a distinctive visual personality. NiSi has focused on creating an image with strong micro-contrast, smooth tonal transitions, and a subtle painterly quality while still maintaining impressive edge-to-edge consistency, even wide open at T1. The use of non-aspherical optical elements contributes to a more organic rendering style and smooth, natural bokeh, while the 16-blade iris helps maintain rounded out-of-focus highlights and pleasing separation.

Mechanically, the lens follows a practical cine-style design with standard 0.8 MOD gearing, 180-degree focus rotation, and a compact, relatively lightweight housing suited for handheld, gimbal, and studio production alike. A 95mm front diameter integrates easily with most professional matte boxes, while the M92 filter thread allows for lightweight filtration setups without additional rigging. Close focus down to 19.7 inches opens the door for detailed close-up compositions and more dramatic subject isolation. Mounted in ARRI LPL, the NiSi 50mm T1 is clearly intended for modern large-format cinema workflows while maintaining a rendering style that feels more character-driven and expressive than many contemporary ultra-clinical optics.
