This mid-range compact zoom offers full-frame coverage, a constant T2.9 aperture, and professional-grade optical performance across its entire focal range. Designed for digital cinema workflows, it maintains sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy from 28mm through 80mm without any focus shift. With a modest 5.5 lb weight and a 7.72" length, it’s a versatile option for handheld, Steadicam, and studio work alike—especially when flexibility and mobility are critical.

The lens features a rugged cine-style housing with 0.8 MOD gears on the focus, iris, and zoom rings, nearly 300° of focus rotation, and calibrated focus scales in feet. ZEISS’s T* anti-reflex coating and internal light traps reduce flare and preserve contrast, while the circular iris delivers smooth, natural-looking bokeh. It ships with a PL mount and supports ZEISS’s interchangeable mount system, with optional EF, F, MFT, and E mounts available separately. Colormatched to other ZEISS cinema lenses, it intercuts seamlessly with primes and zooms across the CZ.2 and Master Prime lines.
