The Tiffen 4x5.65 Linear Polarizer Filter is designed to reduce reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces by filtering out directionally polarized light, resulting in increased color saturation and reduced atmospheric haze. Built with premium Water White glass and proprietary ColorCore technology, the filter substrate is laminated between two pieces of optical glass and ground flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch for exceptional precision. This non-coated filter provides approximately 40% average light transmission and is ideal for camera systems that do not utilize in-camera exposure metering or autofocus. By arranging polarized light perpendicularly to reflections, it allows for the absorption of unwanted glare while enhancing the natural tones of skies and foliage in professional cinematography applications.
