This lens has that unmistakable Cooke look: warm, slightly soft in the right way, with really flattering skin tones and a smooth, almost three dimensional feel to the image. The bokeh is beautiful, and the constant T2.5 aperture means you can zoom freely without worrying about exposure shifts, which just makes it easy to shoot with.
Originally built for Standard 16mm cameras, it can also be used on Super 16mm with a bit of vignetting at the wider end.
