This guide applies to the following kits:
Mirrorless Mount Kit - Leica R
This kit converts lenses with a native Leica R mount to a fixed mirrorless mount for use with mirrorless camera systems. This mount is passive and does not provide electronic feedback or communication between the lens and camera. The conversion process is completely non-destructive and fully reversible.
Installation requires basic mechanical aptitude and involves only a few screws. Some steps may vary depending on the specific lens being converted. Our mount kits are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances to maintain proper flange focal distance. As with any precision optical tool, flange distance should be adjusted within 0.0005" (12 microns) to ensure accurate infinity focus.
We will use a Leica R 19mm V1 as an example. The process is similar for most Leica R lenses.
Begin by removing the six Phillips head screws from the Leica R mount.
Be careful not to lift the mount or internal components away from the chassis. Certain components and linkages may disengage if lifted.

After removing the six screws, align the new sub-mount with the mounting holes and install six M1.7 screws provided in the kit.
The "Duclos Lenses" engraving should be positioned at the bottom of the lens.
Hand tighten the six screws (0.4 Nm recommended) using a Phillips #00 JIS screwdriver.
Thread locker is recommended to ensure screws remain secure.

Insert the light baffle aligned with the cutouts. Orientation is not critical.

Align the flange by matching the red dot on the flange with the engraved caret arrow on the sub-mount.
Alternate clocking positions can be achieved by aligning the holes differently, if desired.
Install the remaining six M1.7 screws using a Phillips #00 JIS screwdriver. Hand tighten (0.4 Nm recommended).
Thread locker is recommended.
